ADR – Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road This course aims to train and qualify drivers in the correct and safe handling procedures for transportation of hazardous solids, liquids and/or gases by road. Course content includes transportation of chemicals, use and design of the Tremcard, hazards involved in handling, loading and unloading of dangerous goods, contamination, legislation and emergency procedures and exercises.
CPC – Certificate of Professional Competence (Freight/Passenger, National and/or International) This intensive course aims to prepare candidates for the CPC exams, which are accredited by OCR and only held 4 times each year. The course covers all aspects of transport management including transport legislation, health and safety, business and financial management, drivers' hours and tachographs. A CPC qualification is a legal requirement for transport and haulage operators.
Customer Care for Drivers A ½ day programme aimed at haulage and transport front line staff who meet and deal with your clients' representatives face to face. It focuses on the key issues of first impressions, representing the organisation, handling difficult situations and how they affect customer retention and your company's reputation.
Defensive Driving Assessments & Corrective Tuition This course is designed to assess driver performance against recognised standards and will provide corrective tuition where necessary to improve performance and safety. You will notice reduced fuel bills, vehicle wear and tear and minor accident levels. Maintenance & repair costs will be reduced. You may qualify for reduced insurance premiums by having your drivers professionally assessed and certificated. Your drivers will be instructed to show greater courtesy and to respect other road users, therefore enhancing your company's public image.
Forklift Trucks (all types) To train/assess and test candidates in the safe operation of lift trucks including: Industrial Counterbalance, Industrial Reach, Telescopic Handler, Side Loader, Moffett Mounty etc. All training is in accordance with standard safe operating practices and current health & safety legislation including: LOLER, PUWER etc. Can be in-house, RTITB or CITB CPCS certification
Handling and Storage of Hazardous Goods This course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and understanding required to effectively deal with the storage and movement of dangerous goods: the course content is aimed at office staff, warehouse personnel and lift truck operators and will enable them to adhere to ADR regulations and Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road regulations.
Large Goods Vehicle Driver Training (LGV) To train drivers to the standard required by the Department of Transport for LGV driving licence. (Note: candidates must gain LGV Category C - rigid vehicle (formerly HGV class 2) licence before they can undertake the LGV Category C+E - articulated vehicle (formerly HGV class 1) training and test.) Candidates need to undergo an LGV medical before they can apply for the provisional licence; they must then pass the theory test for Large Vehicle drivers before they can start training. Assessments to determine the length of recommended training days required can be arranged.
Order Pickers This short duration course is designed to train candidates in the safe operating procedures for operating powered order picking trucks within a warehouse/distribution environment.
Pallet Trucks To provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved when using pedestrian operated pallet trucks in the workplace.
Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driver Training (PCV) To train drivers to the standard required by the Department of Transport for PCV licence. Tachographs & Driver's Hours Regulations This short course is designed to inform and update delegates' knowledge of driver's hours and tachograph rules for goods vehicles in the UK and Europe. This will assist in keeping both the company and the driver operating within the law and avoid costly fines/penalty points etc.
Vehicle Banksman/Signaller This course is designed to minimise the risk of accident and injury to personnel, damage to property and equipment when manoeuvring vehicles within the workplace. It will provide candidates with an awareness of potential hazards including presence of other personnel, vehicles and plant, height restrictions, one-way systems, ground conditions and movement or space restrictions. It will instruct candidates how to operate a safe system of work for vehicle movements at work.
